Yep, old photos but I’m playing around with image gallery plug-ins. I now have two competing galleries and I can’t really decide which I like. Simple Image Gallery is just that, simple. I can easily put the images on the front page in articles that fit into the flow of Joomla. It does thumbnail images on the fly which is neat but ends up being kind of slow as it generates them each time.

Phoca Gallery is a bit more robust (captions, slideshow, thumbnailed gallery preview) does thumbnail image generation on upload, but it is kind of disapointing that I can’t take a gallery and preview the images on the front page. Well, at least I haven’t figured out how to do that yet, but there’s just got to be a way…
